Defecating Vandal Caught In The Act
EDGE null READ TIME: 1 MIN.
"Now to a story you may find disturbing and disgusting," said an anchor from Akron, Ohio NBC affiliate WKYC. "I know we did here at Channel 3."
Of course we are talking about the case of the defecating vandal terrorizing Akron.
"Officials are seeking to identify a man believed to have defecated on multiple cars and children's front yard toys in an Akron neighborhood over the last three years," reported a story on the WKYC website.
Only a handful of the instances are said to be reported to the police. Most victims clean up and move on.
But there was a break in the case this week when an Akron resident set up a time-lapse camera and caught the perp in action.
"This guy defecated on our vehicle eight times since last fall," the unidentified resident told WKYC.
"A small calculation among neighbors estimates this guy has struck over 100 times but likely many more than that," the WKYC report continued.
"'I was questioning my son: Who do you have mad at you? People were pointing fingers all over the place,'" said the photographer.
With his camera, he took 200 photographs.
"I got a good shot," he said. "This guy needs help. That's my message to him: get help."
The WKYC clip (Watch it here) acknowledged the humor inherent in the story.
"Make no mistake. There are jokes at every turn on this story. We heard them from police to the victims to people asking what we are doing down here tonight. So they're alive and well. No question."
