Watch: 'Call Me By Your Name' Director's 'Suspiria' Remake Gets Trailer
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Out filmmaker Luca Guadagnino's new movie is far away from his gay coming-of-age romance "Call Me By Your Name."
Guadagnino is helming the remake of the '77 cult horror film "Suspiria," known for its visceral score by the prog rock band Goblin and its vibrant Technicolor look.
Released by Amazon Studios, Guadagnino's "Suspiria" got its first trailer Monday, which features stars Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Chole Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and Jessica Harper, who starred in the original film, which was directed by Dario Argento. Music for the new film will be provided by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.
The new film is written by David Kajganich and Guadagnino explained to The Guardian recently that his version of "Suspiria" is more of an "homage" to the film than a proper reboot.
Amazon Studios describes the new film:
A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe's artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.
"Suspiria" arrives in theaters Nov. 2.
