HBO's "Big Love"

If all you need is love, then the bigger the better. Thankfully, Big Love is continuing its run on HBO with its fourth season Sunday nights at 9pm or through the On Demand function on your cable system.

Here's what's going on with the Henrickson family:

Bill (Bill Paxton) is still married to all three wives, Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nicki (Chlo Sevigny), and all the problems loving three women entails. Rearing its ugly head this season is the looming death of the old Prophet, which leaves Bill in line to inherit the spot along with Nicki's brother. The Casino finally opens with some success,, but the polygamy question of its owners and promoters gets in the way on more than one occasion.

Adding to the drama are Bill's political plans to run for the state Senate in an attempt to garner equal rights for his lifestyle. Further expanding on its themes of equality is a slight gay storyline that appeared to be developing between two characters in the first episodes. No doubt there will be a clash of cultures.

Naturally, the normal shenanigans between the various polygamist factions, and their secretive ways, press on through the first two episodes. And, once again, Nicki gets thrown under the bus every chance the writers have to do so. Here's hoping something good happens to her for once. Maybe a spa day?
