Pink Lake: International Gay Festival, on Lake Woerthersee, Austria

Come and end your summer with a huge splash - at the fourth annual PINK LAKE international Gay Festival on the gorgeous Lake Woerthersee in Austria from August 25-28, 2011. The chrystal clear, 17 Kilometer long Lake Woerthersee is located in the center of Carinthia, the southernmost state of Austria, which is directly adjacent the borders of Italy and Slovenia.

With its picturesque setting, offering historic grand villas and a gorgeous lake promenade overlooking the tourqoise lake is Velden the ideal location for the PINK LAKE Festival. Modern wellness hotels, trendy bars, cosy restaurants and cafes, a wide variety of boutiques and stores offer an exciting mix of both historical charm and modern comfort.

The program provides a colourful mixture of various events involving entertainment, partying, relaxation and sports. The first night of the festival is the annual 'Almdudler Trachtenparty' (Austrian Folk Party) at the Villa Bulfon in Velden, where both entertainers and guests alike dress in traditional Austrian clothing, from 'Lederhosen" to "Dirndls."

The next night features the much loved Boat Night Party, cruising around the lake accompanied by great music. The final night includes the Clubnight at the Casino Velden with hot DJs and over 1000 guests from Austria, Germany and guests from across Europe.

Many daily activities offer non-stop entertainment, and will take place during the festival on and around the beautiful lake, including swimming, hiking, biking, dating games, sailing courses, motorboat tours and fun games .... as well as simply basking in the late summer sun, chilling and cruising at the beachclub of the "Hotel Werzer�s Velden".

How to Get There:
By Airplane: Klagenfurt Airport offers direct flights to and from London, Cologne/Bonn, Frankfurt, Hannover, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Vienna. The trip from the airport to Velden is only a few minutes via taxi or rental car.
By Train: Velden�s train station may be reached via both long- and short-distance trains.
By Car: From Vienna, Munich, Venice or Zagreb in approximately 3 hours.
