Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Seventh Season

Christian Cintron READ TIME: 2 MIN.

"Grey's Anatomy" created a musical episode for their seventh season, available on DVD. The season takes a lot of risks and takes time to explore the lives of its characters. It brings the series to a more "adult" place but still offers its unique brand of scintillating romantic drama and tension.

The seventh season of "Grey's Anatomy" takes on more "grown up" issues like parenthood, pregnancies, life-altering accidents and post-traumatic recovery. Everyone is recovering from the shooting of last season and dealing with their ever-changing lives.

America's favorite lesbian couple, Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw), go through a lot of happy and tumultuous changes this season. Callie becomes pregnant by her friend with benefits Mark Sloan (Eric Dane). They also decide to get married, be it legal or not and end up becoming the cornerstones of the musical episode.

The musical episode is featured in a regular and extended version. It does seem a little weird and is not as heartwarming or exciting as some of "Grey's Anatomy's" other "events." The DVD includes a behind the scenes featurette, "Grey's Anatomy: Beyond the Musical" which explores the development of the musical episode which featured an actual live musical pitch featuring Ramirez and some of the cast.

The DVD also features deleted scenes and a blooper reel. There is also the webisode series, "Seattle Grace: A Message of Hope" which follows some of the doctors as they try to make a sizzle reel to address the shooting in the media.

This DVD is a worthwhile addition to the "Grey's Anatomy" DVD collection.
