NEW YORK, NY - In observance of World AIDS Day (Thursday, December 1) the Theater District Shake Shack will offer "The Red Ribbon," a special concrete with all proceeds benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. "The Red Ribbon" features Shake Shack's dense vanilla frozen custard blended with strawberry & marshmallow sauce, crispy wafers and topped with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar. "The Red Ribbon" is available only on World AIDS Day (the second year).

Deeply inspired by the mission of the organization, the Theater District Shake Shack selected Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS as its charitable partner when it opened in 2010. In addition to this special World AIDS Day offering, this location features a signature concrete connected to Broadway Cares on its permanent menu. A portion of all sales of "The Great White Way" concrete (vanilla frozen custard, marshmallow sauce and crispy crunchies) benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

"Shake Shack has a history of contributing to important causes and extending hospitality beyond its restaurants into the surrounding community. We are thrilled the team has so enthusiastically embraced Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS," Broadway Cares Executive Director Tom Viola said. "If you haven't yet, get yourself to Shake Shack and try 'The Great White Way' or today, 'The Red Ribbon.' Trust me, it's good!"

Shake Shack Theater District is at 691 Eighth Avenue (at 44tth Street), open daily from 11 am to midnight.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations.
