FORT WORTH, Texas - American Airlines has been honored for the tenth consecutive year by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) with the highest ranking possible in its 2012 Corporate Equality Index. The achievement marks American Airlines as the first and only airline to receive a top score of 100 percent since the survey's inception, a record held only by a handful of other American companies and no other airlines.

Lauri Curtis, American Airlines Vice President - Diversity, Leadership and Engagement, expressed pride in the company's exceptional track record: "We know that maintaining our reputation for diversity leadership and inclusion requires real effort. Year after year, securing our top score on the Corporate Equality Index strengthens our hand and sharpens our efforts to raise the bar not only for ourselves, but for all employers, and allows us to keep attracting a world-class workforce, too."

The Human Rights Campaign is dedicated to promoting and ensuring public understanding of gay and lesbian issues through innovative education and communication strategies. A complete list of Corporate Equality Index rankings is available at http://hrc.org.
