LGBT Winter Pride 2013 Launches At Killington Resort

Killington, VT - GNAR LLC, the official marketing and tourism organization for Winter Pride, announced Killington Resort as its official 2013 host. For the first time ever, the LGBT community, along with their friends, families and allies, will come together in celebration of winter gay pride in Killington, Vermont.

The three-day event is set for February 1-3 and is expected to draw visitors from across the country. Winter Pride will feature an epic lineup of on-snow activities, live entertainment and nightlife parties.

GNAR owner and founder, Megan Skiles explains, "I am really excited about the idea of coordinating a winter-based gay pride event at Killington. In addition to the Resort's well-known mountain terrain and nightlife scene, it is also based out of Vermont, a State that has demonstrated its commitment and support for the gay community time and time again."

Killington Resort, the largest ski resort in Eastern North America, is located in the heart of the Green Mountains in Central Vermont. The Resort boasts 71 miles of skiable terrain or 140 trails, six terrain parks and a superpipe spread across six peaks with 22 lifts.

"Killington Resort is thrilled to host the 2013 Winter Pride event," states Rob Megnin, Killington's director of sales and marketing. "We offer skiing and snowboarding for all ability levels as well as many off-mountain activities including lift served Tubing Park, snowcat-drawn sleigh rides at the Resort along with cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobile tours and more in the Killington Region. GNAR, also known as Gay Network Alliance of Riders, was founded with the goal of bringing the LGBTQ community together through the vehicle of winter sports. The company plans to kick off marketing efforts at the Boston Pride Festival on Saturday, June 9.
