Perez Hilton Reveals Details About Newborn Son

Earlier this month celebrity blogger Perez Hilton made the surprising announcement that he recently became a father. Hilton didn't reveal the name of his son when he wrote an open letter on his popular gossip website, PerezHilton.com, however. Nor did he ever suggest to the media that he was expecting a child during the months leading up to the unexpected announcement.

But Hilton, 34, spoke to the Los Angeles Times this week and formally introduced his son, Mario Armando Lavandeira III. He also gave the newspaper details about his child and his decision to become a single father.

"I knew it was going to happen this way because boyfriends and husbands may come and go, but kids are forever," Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., said. "I didn't want to keep waiting." He also added he's only had one serious relationship in the past five years.

The personality said that only his mother, sister, lawyer and business manger knew that he found an egg donor and a surrogate in 2012. Hilton added his son was born Feb. 16, one month ahead of his expected due date.

Hilton also posted an introduction on PerezHilton.com and wrote, "We are thrilled to formally introduce you all to the angel we are blessed to have as a son, Mario Armando Lavandeira, III Perez Hilton, Jr." Hilton thanked his readers and fans for their support and uploaded 40 pictures of himself and the newborn.
