Standup comedian and LGBT activist, Margaret Cho, made headlines Thursday for an onstage rant she made in Australia recounting her experience working with John Travolta " on the 1997 film "Face/Off," Business Insider is reporting.

"I'm going to get in trouble, but I'll just tell you," she said. "He's not just gay. He doesn't just like men. He is like Oscar Wilde gay, like Lord Byron gay. That kind of crazy, incredibly flamboyant gay." She added that she feels "bad for him because I know he would be much happier if he could just come out. But he can't."

Cho, who is bisexual and grew up in a predominantly gay area of San Francisco sounded off on Travolta during a comedy set in Australia, the British newspaper the Daily Mail points out. The comedian went on to describe what it was like being on the set of "Face/Off" with Travolta.

"It was a weird movie because the way that he worked on it was John Travolta, he can only work 10 hours a day," she said. "And part of the 10 hours is him flying his plane to the location and flying home. So essentially he only had to work like five hours a day." She then launched into his sexuality and said, "He was so pampered and so taken care of, it was the closest I have ever been to being in the presence of a king, or a queen, actually."

Travolta, a Scientologist, has been married to Kelly Preston since 1991, but the "Pulp Fiction" star has been surrounded in gay controversy after two unnamed male masseurs filed sexual lawsuits against him in 2012. Both claims have been dropped, however.

Travolta made headlines again last month after Gawker claimed to obtain an internal report of insurance claim made against Travolta's production company, Constellation Productions Inc., which shows four parties privately issued attorney demand letters "alleging sexual assault" in 2012. The parties apparently include Travolta's stunt double, a former driver and a physical therapist.
