NJ Gov. Christie: 2016 White House Bid Possible

Jason St. Amand READ TIME: 1 MIN.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he not ruling out a 2016 presidential run.

During the first debate in his re-election campaign the Republican governor said Tuesday night that he won't decide whether he'll seek the presidency until he has to.

Christie's gubernatorial challenger is Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono. She says Christie's policies on women's health and gay marriage are already geared toward Republican primary voters.

The debate offered Christie a warm-up for a prospective presidential campaign. Buono has been given little chance at unseating the popular governor.

The only unsettled question appears to be Christie's margin of victory in this Democratic-leaning state.

Christie and Buono will debate each other once more before the Nov. 5 election.
