Sleeping Beauty - Diamond Edition
One of Disney's finest pieces of animation is re-released on Blu-ray in a new "Diamond Edition."
"Sleeping Beauty" entered the public consciousness again this year with the release of the Disney live-action film "Maleficent" so it's no surprise it's getting a new life on Blu-ray. That said, if you already have the Disney Blu-ray, while there are some new special features, whether you really want to fork over $36.99 is up to you. Aside from looking amazing, the rerelease is strictly for Disney enthusiasts with a number of new bonus features to tantalize the faithful.
Once Upon a Parade (starring "Modern Family's" Sarah Hyland) is nothing more than a cute way to promote a Walt Disney World theme parade.
Art of Evil: Generations of Villians - This focuses on Disney's favorite villain animator Marc Davis and his various creations from Maleficent to Cruella DeVille.
@DisneyAnimation: Artists in Motion: Walt Disney Animation Visual Development Artist Brittney Lee talks about creating a three dimensional sculpture of Maleficent out of paper.
Three New Deleted Scenes - Three deleted/alternate scenes - mostly unfinished give a different perspective of how the final film would have looked had they been included.
Beauty-Oke "Once Upon a Dream" - Sing along text video of Aurora's signature song.
Classic DVD Bonus Features - These features come straight from the previous DVD release and include featurettes on restoring the classic film, the making of the film, background painter Eyvind Earle, plus audio commentary by John Lassetter ("Toy Story"), Andreas Deja, and film critic and Disney historian Leonard Maltin.
