Cristiano Ronaldo's New Statue: Erected With Erection?

For anyone who ever doubted that bronze was a hard metal.

Hottie soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo has been the apple of many gay men's eyes for years now and a new statue honoring the hunky athlete has been erected in his childhood home of Portugal Sunday.

But this isn't your typical statue, and may have some of Ronaldo's biggest fans truly excited because...well, it looks like it has a huge hard on.

As the Daily Mail points out, Ronaldo, 29, was in his hometown of Funchal, Portugal, this weekend to witness the unveiling of his well-endowed statue, taking several photos in front of it.

"This is a very special moment, to have a statue of me," Ronaldo said, according to the BBC.

The soccer star later took to Twitter and wrote: "I feel so proud to be honored with a statue in Madeira. It's a huge joy to share this moment with my family and the people from Madeira. Thank you all for the warm reception."

The Daily Mail notes that locals aren't so hot on the statue as you and I may be.

"We think the facial expression looks a bit like him but not the face. At a first look you can't say it is Ronaldo - but it's a nice statue and does not pass unnoticed," one person said.

"I don't think the statue looks like him. I like to see him in person," another said, according to the Daily Mail.

When the athlete posted some of the unveiling photos on Facebook, some fans instantly noticed the statue was packing some heat:

"We can only assume he had some very specific instructions regarding one particular part of the sculpture. Either that, or he posed for it when he was feeling a bit excited about something...," one user wrote.

"Thats a huge dick lol," another put bluntly.
