EDGE null READ TIME: 1 MIN.
In the new Disney musical "Into the Woods" (out on Christmas day), Oscar-nominated actress Anna Kendrick plays Cinderella -- the scullery maid that becomes the belle of the Prince's ball only to run away into the woods.
Kendrick has been a performer since the age of 12 when she was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in the musical "High Society." In 2009 she received an Oscar, Golden Globe and SAG Award nomination for playing George Clooney's assistant in "Up in the Air." Her role in the smash musical film "Pitch Perfect" showed the world she could sing, netting her a Top Ten Billboard hit with the song "Cups (When I'm Gone").
In this interview Kendrick discusses playing the iconic fairy tale heroine, what the 'woods' represents and what it was like working with the all-star casts, which features Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine (as her Prince) and Johnny Depp.
