Going 'Into the Woods' with Johnny Depp
EDGE null READ TIME: 1 MIN.
When Johnny Depp was offered the role of the Wolf in the new Disney musical "Into the Woods" (out on Christmas day), he was honored that the creative team behind the film (including director Rob Marshall and composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim) wanted him.
But it's not as if Depp is unfamiliar with Sondheim: he received an Oscar nomination for playing the homicidal barber Sweeney Todd in Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." As the Wolf, Depp serenades Little Red Riding Hood as she heads to her grandmother's house.
In this interview Depp talks about how thrilled he was when he was offered the role, what it is like to work with Sondheim and what the experience was like working with Marshall.
