Zoe Saldana Won't Boycott Dolce & Gabbana Over Controversial Gay Remarks

Actress Zoe Saldana won't be one of the celebrities hopping on Sir Elton John's bandwagon to #BoycottDolceGabbanan after the gay Italian designers made headlines last week for comments they made about same-sex parents adopting children or having them via in vitro fertilization.

"No! Not at all, that would be the stupidest thing if it affected my fashion choice," Saldana told E! News at the 2015 GLAAD Media Awards. "People are allowed to their own opinion, however, I wouldn't have chosen to be so public about something that's such a personal thing. Obviously it caused some sensitivity, but then again if you continue to follow the news, you see they all kinda hugged it out, so why are we making a big deal about it?"

"The Guardians of the Galaxy" star, whose husband, Marco Perego, is from Italy, also said that sometimes comments are lost in translation.

Saldana isn't the only fashionista still wearing D&G clothes. It was reported last week that Gwen Stefani showed up at a private party at Soho House sponsored by Jimmy Choo wearing a Dolce & Gabbana polka-dot ensemble.

Stylist Samantha McMillen, who dresses stars like Johnny Depp and Chris Hemsworth, told the Associated Press: "I don't really know what to do at the moment. She added that she believes in second chances, saying, "I'll respect whatever my clients want to do."

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana came under fire after telling Italian magazine Panorama that children born from in vitro fertilization are "children of chemistry, synthetic children. Uteruses for rent, semen chosen from a catalog."

Pop legend Elton John took offense to the remarks and lashed out via social media, urging a boycott against the fashion brand. A number of celebrities joined John, including Courtney Love, Ricky Martin, Andy Cohen and producer Ryan Murphy.

Ellen DeGeneres also went after D&G, calling their comments "ignorant" and pledging that she will never wear their clothes "ever, ever again."

Since the outrage, Dolce and Gabbana, who were once partners, tried to clarify their initial comments with Gabbana telling CNN, "We love gay couples, we love gay adoption, we love everything."

Gabbana said he supports the use of in vitro fertilization but Dolce wasn't so clear about it, saying, "I believe in the traditional family. It is impossible to change my culture for something different. It's me... I respect all the world, all the culture."
