Schock Sighting: MIA Rep. Spotted Lunching in Chicago

EDGE READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Put all theories of Aaron Schock having cocktails with Elvis or giving workout tips to Jimmy Hoffa to rest. The greatest missing persons questions since "where in the world is Carmen Sandiego" may have been answered this week.

Gawker reports that after weeks of being M.I.A., embattled former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL) may have been spotted. And ironically, just like everything else in the former congressman's life leading up to his resignation in March, this was documented on social media.

CBS News reporter in Chicago Brad Edwards snapped and tweeted a photo of Schock yesterday while lunching at a steakhouse in the Windy City's upscale River North neighborhood.

"Where is embattled former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock? Well, right there, lunching in Chicago," Edwards tweeted, followed by "As a grand jury investigates Schock, he ate fish & sipped Arnold Palmers @ChicagoCut's new restaurant.

As reported by EDGE in April, Attorney Daniel Kurowski told a U.S. District Judge that he hasn't been able to locate Schock to serve him papers. The lawsuit in question was brought April 15 by Kurowski client, Howard Foster of Chicago, who donated $500 to the former congressman's re-election campaign in 2012.

And while Schock has been conspicuously "off the grid," a friend told the Sun Times that "He's thinking about the next chapter of his life. [..] He's not underground. He's not in hiding. He's not in disguise running around Antarctica."

Yet despite his friend's claim, unlike the former congressman from Peoria's staffers who were served subpoenas to testify before a grand jury, Schock has remained elusive to process servers.
