David Atlanta magazine's second annual "Men of David" contest raised more than $48,000 this weekend for AID Atlanta, the Southeast's largest AIDS service organization, and named Jeffrey Hollington its Man of David for 2015.

"We're so excited to have more than doubled the funds we raised last year, all to help an important and worthy organization in our city. People may think HIV/AIDS is 'under control' but the facts show it's still a scourge in our community," said David Thompson, publisher and owner of David Atlanta.

The "Men of David" contest begins with around 30 volunteers from the city on the magazine's web site and the 10 men who garner the highest votes become the year's "Men of David." The 10 men then appear at benefit events to earn pledges of online support as well as cash. On the final night of the contest, the pledges and cash are tallied and a winner is named. AID Atlanta also holds a silent auction at the event to raise even more funds.

This year's "Men of David" are Michael Grad, Jason Holcombe, Jon Johnson, Logan Mann, Alex Ortiz, David Joseph Tillman, William Treadwell, Daniel Valentine, Austin Wilson and the 2015 Man of David, Jeffrey Hollington.

Saturday night's event was held at Atlanta's largest GLBT entertainment venue, Jungle Atlanta, and the evening's celebration on Jungle's dance floor was led by London DJ Lee Dagger of Bimbo Jones. The venue kindly donated its facility for the event for the second year.

James Hughey, interim chief executive officer of AID Atlanta, said, "We're always pleased to be part of, and the beneficiary of the annual "Men of David" contest to help fund our work. The need has never been greater in the Southeast and we thank David Atlanta for its support of our mission."
