PopUps: One Direction Member Reportedly to Cover Gay Magazine in November

One Direction singer Liam Payne will reportedly cover gay magazine Attitude for its November issue, according to reports.

Payne, 23, will appear solo on the cover, leaving behind 1D bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, according to website SugarScape. The feature comes weeks after the boy band announced they would be going on a hiatus soon.

Gay Star News reports the topics addressed in the fall interview have not been revealed but rumor has it will be Payne's most revealing interview to date.

The "Drag Me Down" singer has a somewhat complicated relationship with the LGBT community. Last month, Payne took to Twitter to apologize to fans who called him homophobic after a video appeared online showing him making comments some deemed anti-gay.

"This is my favorite song off the last album, and it is about trying to find that number one woman of your life -- which none of you can relate to, 'cause most of you are girls. Except for the boys in here... you know what I'm talking about," Payne told audience members at a concert in the clip.

After being accused of being a homophobe, Payne went on a Twitter rant and told his millions of followers "I am in no way shape or form homophobic that's a ridicules thing to say and I'm not here to offend people so take it as you will."

He added: "So annoying trying your hardest to make people happy in a show and you think about all the notes u tried to hit higher or a little sweeter."

He later wrote, "I'm sorry to those I offended really I am but there's no need for some of the things I'm being called."

The hunky singer found himself in a similar situation year after alleged nude photos of him, or someone who looks like him, with another man surfaced online, promoting Payne to stress to fans on Twitter he is not not gay.

"Wow as if people think that weird photo going around is actually me lol think id rather tweet a full frontal than have people look at that," he wrote at the time.

The pop star came under fire by some fans, however, who considered his tweet to be anti-gay.

"I'm 100% not homophobic," Payne replied to the criticism. "But I'm also 100% not gay so when somebody says I am, I'm gunna say I'm not which does not make me a homophobe."
