Watch: 'Law & Order SVU' Episode to Take On Anti-Trans Teen Violence

Popular crime drama "Law & Order SVU" will take on the issue of violence against transgender teens. The episode titled "Transgender Bridge" is set to run Wednesday, September 30 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC and will deal with how bullying escalates into tragedy when a transgender teen is taunted by high school kids.
According to press notes, the "Transgender Bridge" episode of "Law & Order SVU" is about fictionalized 15-year-old trans girl Avery Parker (guest star Christopher Dylan) who walks home from school through Fort Tryon Park in Upper Manhattan when she's surrounded by a group of rowdy boys.�Taunts and jokes intensify to pushing and shoving, leaving Avery in the hospital and three assailants under arrest.� When the DA's office decides to try one of the culprits, 15 year-old Darius McCrae (guest star Dante Brown), as an adult, the SVU squad agonizes over whether the punishment fits the crime, and must deal with the pain of both families involved.�
The episode stars series regulars Mariska Hargitay (Sgt. Olivia Benson), Ice T (Det. Odafin Tutuola), Kelli Giddish (Det. Amanda Rollins) and Peter Scanavino (Det. Sonny Carisi).�Making guest appearances are Robert Sean Leonard (ADA Kenneth O'Dwyer), Adrienne Moore (Cheryl McCrae), Bill Irwin (Dr. Peter Lindstrom), Jessica Phillips (Pippa Cox). Real life husband and wife Broadway performers Danny Burstein and Rebecca Luker play the transgender girl's parents.
