PopUps: Porn Star Brent Corrigan Says He Turned Down Role in Franco's Gay Biopic

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

There's been a lot of talk surrounding the upcoming biopic "King Cobra," which tells the story of the 2007 murder of gay porn director Bryan Kocis. The latest bit info comes from gay porn star Brent Corrigan, who said he turned down a role to play himself in the James Franco-produced film.

Kocis, who owned the gay porn studio Cobra Studios, was killed by two escorts who were trying to get the then-underaged Corrgian out of the company, according to Gay Star News.

Apparently, Corrgian was offered a role in "King Cobra" to play himself, but the porn actor revealed in a Facebook post that he turned down the part.

"The internet has been a buzz regarding some recent news that a movie is being filmed right now in New York State chronicling the Bryan Kocis murder and the early days of my adult career," he wrote on Oct. 19. "I was originally approached to be a part of the film as a consultant and the cast. I was asked to play a small part in the film and declined the role. Ultimately, I chose to move forward with my own plans to finally release my book in place of taking part in someone elses [sic] presentation of events that I personally lived as a young adult."

Corrgian also took to Twitter to respond to fans' questions and said, "I have no interest in playing myself in any movie. I'm myself everyday :-)"

Earlier this week, it was reported that Disney actor Garrett Clayton will play Corggian. When a fan asked the porn star how he felt about the Clayton playing him, he tweeted: "I was 17-21 in the years the screenplay spans. I looked much younger. He doesn't embody Brian's preference for not legal boys."

Molly Ringwald and Christian Slater are both involved in "King Cobra" in unspecified roles. Franco took to Instagram Tuesday to post a steamy selfie with Keegan Allen, who will star in the film. By the looks of the pic, Franco will also appear in the movie.
