Jurassic World

Kevin Taft READ TIME: 2 MIN.

The biggest film of the year stomps onto Blu-ray with a loaded release that features a 3D Blu-ray, 2D Blu-ray, DVD, and digital copy of the film. If there's a way you want to watch "Jurassic World", Universal has you covered. Story issues aside, this was a fun return to form and a great big-budget debut from indie-director Colin Trevorrow. It continued the career rise of Chris Pratt and reminded us that Bryce Dallas Howard is seriously not just Jessica Chastain in disguise. While the overall wonder of seeing dinosaurs on screen has faded since the 1991 original Spielberg film, the thrill is still there and it looks and sounds glorious on Blu-ray. Special features are kind of slim for such a profoundly successful film, but at the same time, it might all seem like we've seen all of this before so the swifter, the better.

They include:

  • Deleted Scenes - six minutes of scenes strung together in one featurette.
  • Chris & Colin Take on the "World" - a nine-minute featurette with Pratt and Treverrow talking about key moments from the film.
  • Welcome to "Jurassic World" - a 30-minute feature about the film as a whole, covering a wide array of topics from motion capture to new dino designs.
"Jurassic World": All-Access Pass - short featurette on key action scenes.
  • Innovation Center Tour with Chris Pratt - a 2-minute tour of the set that includes fun details that audiences might miss the first time around.
  • "Jurassic's" Closest Shaves - Presented by "Barbasol" this is a montage of some of the most thrilling cliff-hanging moments of the franchise.
