Ted Cruz's Father: LGBT Activists Will Push for Legalized Pedophilia

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Raphael Cruz, father of 2016 GOP presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) stated Wednesday that the next goal of LGBT activists will be the legalization of pedophilia.

"I think that's the next thing that they're going to push, to try to legalize pedophiles," Raphael Cruz told Buzzfeed. "Pedophilia, you have all these laws to forget about -- we have laws on the books about statutory rape. You have to basically throw away the statutory rape laws to legalize pedophilia."

Raphael Cruz's comments were made in Salt Lake City during the annual meeting of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) designated anti-gay hate group World Congress of Families (WCF).

The annual WCF meeting, which concludes Thursday, has brought together some of the United States' religious right wing's leading opponents of LGBT rights.

According to the SPLC, the Rockford, Ill.-based WCF "pursues an international anti-choice, anti-LGBT agenda, seeking to promote conservative ideologies -- and codify these into regressive laws and policies -- that dictate who has rights as 'family,' and who doesn't."
