Jesse Tyler Ferguson to Return to Broadway Next Spring

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is heading back to Broadway, but not in just one role. Try about 40.

The "Modern Family" star has signed up for the one-man comedy "Fully Committed" this spring at the Lyceum Theatre.

Ferguson will play an aspiring actor and haggard reservations clerk at a snooty, upscale New York City restaurant who must switch from character to character as he plays his boss, colleagues and pompous patrons scrambling to get a table.

Playwright Becky Mode has updated her script to reflect the explosion in foodie snobbery since the play first premiered off-Broadway in 1999. The show begins April 2 and opening night is April 25.

The producers, Barbara Whitman and Patrick Catullo, also brought "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" to Broadway, which starred Ferguson.
