Portuguese soccer hunk Cristiano Ronaldo admitted to "personal problems" impacting his athletic performance Wednesday but failed to address gay rumors that he's in a relationship with his Moroccan boxer friend, Gay Star News reports.

Ronaldo spoke with Spanish TV station Antena 3 after losing a recent soccer match and confessed to his poor gameplay.

"I have been below my level. You have to take into account that I have had some personal problems. I would prefer to keep them to myself, but I am in a better place now," he reportedly said.

It was reported last week rumors of Ronaldo's same-sex relationship with equally hunky pal Badr Hari sparked after a strange report from Spanish media surfaced, which claimed Ronaldo had been taking several trips to Morocco to visit Hari. The report was discussed on French TV in a segment about what soccer stars do on their free time.

"What I'm interested in is what players do on the pitch, and whether their side activities might have an impact on that," pundit Daniel Riolo said during the broadcast. "Take the example of Cristiano Ronaldo -- I'm sure flying off to Morocco three to four times a week to see a friend and cuddle with him might have an impact on his performances eventually."

Ronaldo and Hari have documented their friendship in a few photos on social media. Check them out below.
