Former Gay Porn Actor Recovering After Being Paralyzed in Shooting Incident

It was reported in December that former gay porn actor Bo Dean was paralyzed after being shot in the chest in November, but according to a GoFundMe page that was set up to help pay for medical expenses, Dean is on the road to recovery.

"Its been 19 days since Michael (Bo) has been in the hospital," the latest update reads. "No sign of release date as of yet. Recent surgery to fix aneurism on his chest was successful. They also did an angiogram to scope out and see what else is wrong and will follow up with chest X-rays."

The page was created by a woman named Melanie, who writes Dean is her "dear friend, best friend...whom i love and cherish." She also wrote Dean was shot in the chest while having an argument with a friend in New Orleans. He is still recovering at the University Medical Center, where he was sent after the incident on Nov. 28.

Dean suffered an injury to his spinal cord and is paralyzed from the waist down. According to the GoFundMe page, Dean does not have insurance and no income. He has "no way to pay the mounting medical bills and other related expenses (medicines, wheelchair, treatments, rehabilitation etc. etc.). This unfortunate incident happened right after we lost our home and was destroyed by a fire. We've lost pretty much everything and had to start from scratch," the page reads.

"Everyday he's getting stronger though. Just today doing his therapy- he was able to transfer from bed to wheelchair by himself and was able to roll himself out to the elevator to the hallways of the hospital. Yoohoo! So proud of him," the latest GoFundMe update reads.
