CBS Cancels Jane Lynch Show 'Angel From Hell': One Million Moms do Victory Dance

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

"Angel From Hell," the new sitcom starring Jane Lynch, has been canceled by CBS effective immediately, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show was removed from the network's prime-time schedule after just five episodes. "2 Broke Girls" will replace "Angel From Hell" in its 9:30 p.m. Thursday time slot. THR notes it is unclear if the remaining episodes of "Angel From Hell" will ever air or be put on a streaming service.

Predictably, anti-gay media watchdog group One Million Moms is doing a victory dance.

"'Angel From Hell' has been canceled after only five episodes! 1MM voiced concern over this spiritually dangerous program and a lack of sponsorship played a major role in the show's cancellation," One Million Moms wrote in a statement released on Tuesday. "For example, Capital One, the sponsor One Million Moms previously contacted, stopped supporting the program 'Angel From Hell.' Their ads were not present during the last four episodes."

"Angel From Hell" opened with 8 million viewers but following episodes did not do as well, with its fifth episode on Feb. 4 earning 6.3 million viewers.

As of this writing, Lynch has not commented on the cancellation of her show.
