PopUps: Teen Star of Viral 'Damn Daniel' Vid Talks to Ellen

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The teen star of a 30-second Snapchat video called "Damn Daniel" that took the Internet by storm this week is getting his 15-minutes on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Daniel, the 14-year-old viral sensation who is back at it with his white Vans, and his best friend Josh, who filmed and speaks in the clip, spoke with Ellen Wednesday about their new viral fame.

The duo, from Riverside, Calif., explain the clip's origin story: Josh says he suddenly decided to film Daniel's shoes one day while yelling, "Damn, Daniel!" and make it part of his Snapchat story. Daniel had no idea what his friend was doing but he didn't mind.

After filming him a number of times, Josh, 15, combined the clips into a single video and posted it on Twitter on Feb. 15, where it blew up. The video tweet has been favorited over 410,000 times and retweeted over 320,000. Ellen also says the clip has been watched over 45 million times.

Daniel said he is constantly being stopped for photos and is asked to call Josh to hear his voice. Unsurprisingly, the handsome Daniel said he's also been hit with a number of proposals but isn't quite ready to settle down.

Ellen ended up surprising the teen with a lifetime supply of Vans. Damn, Daniel. He'll always be back at it with the white Vans! Thanks, Ellen!
