Actress Parker Posey is apologizing after coming under fire on Twitter for posting a selfie that many found to be transphobic, Refinery29 reports.

The "Best in Show Star" has really been getting into social media recently, creating a Twitter account in February as well as setting up accounts on Instagram and Snapchat. And while Posey, 47, has been posting several silly Snapchats to her Twitter (Barker Posey was pretty good) she got on Twitter's bad side Wednesday for a post that has been deemed transphobic.

The controversial tweet/photo showed Posey using on of Snapchat's fun filters. This one transformed her into a cop, adding huge aviator sunglasses, a police cap and a mustache. Posey added some text to the image, which reads, "Insta-TransGender."

It didn't take long before the backlash ensued.

Posey later apologized for her tweet, which has not been deleted.

A week before her latest gaff, Posey posted a Snapchat photo that showed her support for the LGBT community, in the wake of Mississippi and North Carolina enacting anti-LGBT laws.
