In a moving performance, Kesha performed a cover of Lady Gaga's Oscar-nominated song "Til It Happens to You" at the Humane Society Gala in Los Angeles Saturday night, Rolling Stone reports.

"I want to dedicate this song to every man, woman, child and animal that has ever been abused," Kesha said just before launching into the powerful ballad.

Kesha has been in legal battles against producer Dr. Luke, who has worked on a number of her biggest hit songs. The pop star has accused Dr. Luke of sexual and verbal abuse and wants out of her contract with the producer and record label Sony.

"Til It Happens to You" was written by Diane Warren for the "The Hunting Ground," a documentary about campus rape.

During her rendition, Kesha nearly broke down during the first line, "Tell me it gets better," and had to step back from her microphone. But she was able to quickly get herself back together and carried out the rest of the song.

Last month, Kesha released her first new material in nearly three years. She provided the vocals on a reworking of EDM artist Zedd's song "True Colors."

Lady Gaga has been one of Kesha's biggest supporters through the "TiK ToK" singer's court battles. Mother Monster has taken to social media a number of times, defending Kesha.

"The very reason women don't speak up for years is the fear that no one will believe them or their abuser has threatened their life or life of their loved ones/livelihood in order to keep their victim quiet and under control," Gaga wrote on Instagram, Rolling Stone notes. "What happened to Kesha has happened to many female artists, including myself, and it will affect her for the rest of her life.

"No one needs to validate Kesha," she continued. "Why is victim always the 'liar'? Why do we let people in a position of power get away with behaving inhumanely? These guys hide behind the legal system and it's their litigious behavior that is precisely what they use to rape these girls. 'Give me what I want or else I will come after you' and they have all the money and the resources to do it."

Of course, the "American Horror Story" star lauded Kesha shortly after her "Til It Happens to You" cover.
