Man Who Got Breast Implants After $100K Bet Wants Them Removed

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

A Canadian man who got breast implants to win a $100,000 bet in 1997 appeared on the E! reality series "Botched" this week to have them removed, the Daily Mail reports.

Brian Zembic, 55, a magician and gambler, appeared on the series to speak with Los Angeles surgeons Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif to remove his breast implants. Though the bet was for Zembic to keep them for a year, he left them in for nearly two decades.

"These are my $100,000 boobs!" Zembic says in a clip, revealing his 38C breasts. "I'm a gambler and a magician. There are very few things I wouldn't do for a bet."

Zembic, who has a 16-year-old daughter, has a history of taking up bizarre bets but getting breast implants may be one of the most extreme dares he's taken.

"It was about 1997-ish I was in some restaurant in Europe and I was with two friends and his girlfriend at the time was flaunting her boobs and I said to my friend: 'If I had boobs like hers I could get just as much attention as she would,'" he told E!'s "Botched."

One of Zembic's friends then asked him how much it would cost him to get breast implants himself.

"He came up with $100,000 and I shook his hand and that was it, it was a bet," he said. "I knew a plastic surgeon that was also a gambler in New York, so I went to his office and I said: 'Can you put boobs in for me?' And all he said was: 'This is for a bet, right?'"

When the plastic surgeon asked how he was going to pay for the procedure, Zembic suggested a "little bit of backgammon."

"I played backgammon with him for an hour; I won $5,000. Boom, surgery was for free, and I woke up with boobs," he said. "They really did look nice, and now I can see why women do certain poses, like push the boobs together, turn the twist to make the boobs look nice."

According to the rules of the bet, Zembic needed to keep the implants for a full year in order to win his $100,000. His friend also offered to buy out of the bet for $50,000. He refused to go for the out, however, and won his big prize.

"First time I showed my friend he laughed for 10 minutes," he said. "He said: 'That is the best $100,000 I have ever lost.'"

Zembic ended up keeping his breast implants for nearly 20 years, telling Maxim magazine last year he "got lazy" and "busy gambling," adding that the breasts "grew on me."

"Plus it hasn't hurt my ability to get girls. They don't give a shit," he said.

Zembic's wild bet-taking ways has even earned him a Wikipedia article.
