White Supremacists Call Taylor Swift 'Aryan Goddess'

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Some white supremacists are lauding pop star Taylor Swift for all the wrong reasons. According to a recent report from Vice's Broadly site, neo-Nazis are championing the "Out of the Woods" singer as their "Aryan Goddess."

They're claiming Swift is secretly touting their ultra-right views and that she's waiting for Donald Trump to be elected president before making her true agenda known.

Obviously Swift has no connection with any white supremacist groups at all. And she has never once publicly made comments about white supremacists nor has she ever been accused of showing support for them in private. It's very safe to assume Swift has absolutely no ties to neo-Nazis. As Broadly notes, though she's been quiet with regards to her political stances, she did comment about Obama being elected as president, telling Rolling Stone back in 2009: "I've never seen this country so happy about a political decision in my entire time of being alive. I'm so glad this was my first election." She's also recently had positive-LGBT messages in her music, like in "Welcome to New York," the opening track from her massively popular album "1989."

Still, that is not stopping neo-Nazis from projecting their fantasies on the singer. In Broadly's article, Andre Anglin, who heads the white supremacist blog the Daily Stormer, is quoted praising Swift's "sculpted Aryan form."

"Firstly, Taylor Swift is a pure Aryan goddess, like something out of classical Greek poetry. Athena reborn. That's the most important thing," Anglin wrote. "It is also an established fact that Taylor Swift is secretly a Nazi and is simply waiting for the time when Donald Trump makes it safe for her to come out and announce her Aryan agenda to the world. Probably, she will be betrothed to Trump's son, and they will be crowned American royalty."

There's also a Taylor Swift for Fascist Europe Facebook page, which has over 18,000 likes, where its anonymous manager gushes over her "Nordic blood" and that she's not "having gang-bangs with colored gentlemen."

Broadly's piece is fascinating and disturbing. Click here to read the full story.
