Equality Florida Launches GoFundMe for Orlando Massacre Victims, Families
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
As hundreds line up to donate blood in the wake of the Orlando terror attack, the LGBT group Equality Florida has launched a GoFundMe page for the victims of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history and their families.
Equality Florida's spokesperson Ida Vishkaee Eskamani told CNN that all the money donated will go to the families. Click here to donate.
"We've gotten responses from folks all over the world," Eskamani told CNN.
The initial goal for the fund was set at $500,000. Donations came pouring in and in just two hours, the goal was met. The goal has since been raised to $2 million. As of this writing, the fund has earned more than $1.4 million.
"Funds raised on this page will be going directly to the victims and families affected by the horrific shooting at Orlando's Pulse Nightclub," a statement on the page reads. "Equality Florida is working with local organizations - who are also helping to raise funds - to ensure the money is distributed properly."
