11th Annual Saddle Up Benefit Raises Funds for Life Group LA

On Saturday, July 9, head to the Majestic Griffith Park Mountains in Glendale for the 11th Annual "Saddle Up LA," an annual fundraiser to benefit the AIDS service organization Life Group LA.

"Saddle Up LA" is an AIDS Benefit Horseback Trail Ride and Country BBQ with all proceeds going to support the work of local Los Angeles non-profit, The Life Group LA.�This year's goal is to raise $100,000.

The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness of the fact that the AIDS Pandemic is not over and to raise much needed funds for the HIV services provided by The Life Group LA.� It is also an affirmation of the power of compassion and a demonstration that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things.

After the ride the riders and guests head to the festivities at the Country BBQ.�One does not have to register for the ride to enjoy the great Country BBQ!�The Country BBQ costs $55 per person. The menu includes: BBQ tri-tip, BBQ chicken, grilled veggies, potato salad, green salad, dessert, soda/water/ice tea and a no-host bar.

Founded in 2005, The Life Group LA provides education, empowerment and emotional support for persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS that they may make informed choices regarding their healthcare and personal wellbeing.

Using a variety of methodologies such as peer support groups and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar, The Life Group LA creates educational and empowering experiences in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment.

Last year, to celebrate The Life Group LA's 10th Anniversary the organization was honored with a "City of Los Angeles" proclamation signed by Mayor Eric Garcetti & The City of West Hollywood honored the organization with an "Commendation" proclamation. In 2006, 2009 and 2010, Saddle Up LA won the Weho Awards for Outstanding Community Event!

The 11th Annual Saddle Up Ride & Country BBQ ride will be held from 5-7 p.m., followed by the BBQ from 8-11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9 at 1001 West Riverside Dr., Burbank, CA 91506.
