NSFW: Thanks to iOS 10, iPhone Users Can Find Hardcore Porn GIFs
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
If you updated your iPhone software this week, upgrading to the long-awaited iOS 10, then you've probably noticed iMessages underwent a significant makeover. Users can now easily access a gif library and search keywords to share funny and cute moving images to their friends and family. They can also send loved ones hardcore porn and "My Little Pony" porn!
The folks over at Deadspin discovered when searching the word "butt" yielded X-rated "My Little Pony" gifs. Yikes.
Deadspin writer Ashley Feinberg writes:
Clearly Apple didn't think its censorship techniques through all the way. Try searching "tits" or "dick," for instance, and you'll get nothing, so it's safe to assume Apple decided just to block those entirely. "Butt," however, appears to have made it through. And since Apple is probably pulling from GIF storehouses like Giphy, whatever those storehouses let through, Apple lets through. That means Apple just sent a cartoon pony vagina to millions of phones nationwide.
The Deadspin post was later updated, with Feinberg writing Apple has since blocked the "My Little Pony" porn.
This text will be the linkIn another post from Feinberg, it was discovered that more innocuous words might turn up porn gifs. Typing in the word "huge" turned up a very NSFW gif. Click here at your on risk (super NSFW).
She writes:
Now, it's understandable that a cartoon pony might slip through, but this is about as blatant as it gets. Apple is a massive tech company! You would think that, somewhere, in all their many departments, at least one person would be able to come up with an algorithm that knows when a dick is being sucked.
That post was also later updated, stating Apple blocked the word "huge."
The tech website The Verge writes searches of misspelled words of body parts also turn up nude images.
Interestingly enough, when EDGE searched "gay" nothing showed up. "LGBT," however, brings up an array of rainbow and Pride flag gifs.
