Study: More Straight Guys Are Into Gay Porn Than You'd Think

Are there straight guys who get into gay porn? The answer is, yes, and a lot more than you'd think.

A recent study published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior that surveyed 821 gay, straight and bisexual men about their porn-viewing preferences found that 21% of straight men admitted to watching gay porn. Bisexual men reported watching same-sex porn at a rate of 96% and straight porn at a rate of 88.3%.

"Sexual attractions and behaviors are more than just identity," lead researcher in the study Martin J. Downing told Cosmopolitan.com. "Research has shown that some gay men are attracted to or find heterosexual and masculine men more attractive," he continued.

But how do gay guys feel about watching straight porn? The same study found 55% of the gay men surveyed admitted to watching heterosexual porn recently.

Beca Grimm writing for Alternet notes that Downing's study is in line 2014 metrics from Pornhub.com, that found that lesbian porn was most popular with women using their site.
