Male Model, Skateboarder Dylan Rieder Dies After Leukemia Battle

Professional skateboarder and male model Dylan Rieder died Wednesday after a battle with leukemia, his father said. He was 28.

"His passion for life, art, music, fashion and skateboarding has always been contagious," a statement from Joe Rieder said. "Dylan will be remembered by all as a loving son, brother and friend."

CNN reports Rieder, born in Westminster, Calif., started skating at 9 years old and won the 2001 Damn Am contest when he was 13. At 18, he went professional and appeared in Transworld Skateboarding's "A Time to Shine."

Rieder also modeled and was featured in a DKNY ad campaign in 2014.

A number of celebrities are mourning the loss of Rieder, including rapper Lil Wayne, actress Cara Delevingne, Ozzy Osbourne and more.
