Ballers - The Complete Second Season

It is very impressive to experience the career that former wrestling great "The Rock" has fashioned for himself as Dwayne Johnson, big screen leading man and mogul. As the executive producer and star of the HBO Original Series "Ballers: The Complete Second Season" now available for full-on, non-stop binging on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, the sports-centric drama has emerged a ratings favorite on the cable network, especially after the vacuum left when the similar styled "Entourage" wrapped its run.

Though that series centered on the glitz and glamour of rising stardom, "Ballers" is more or less following a similar template, but focuses on the celebrity in the million dollar world of football players and profit. "Ballers" continues to follow the trials and tribulations of sports financial manager Spencer Strasmore (Johnson) who has transcended beyond just working for the man, and founded his own ambitious firm, but a former colleague now competitor has reemerged on the scene and is threatening to take Spencer down.

Critics all hail "Ballers" for its forthright humor and characteristically cool portrayal of the sports world, and celebrate Johnson for his ability to charismatically command the small screen as easily as he does blockbusters. Now adding to the series' distinct success, and increase the stakes, "Ballers" introduces a new character and a foil to Strasmore in the formidable form of Andy Garcia. Garcia plays Andre Allen, a one-time ally, Andre is determined to keep his place at the top of the food chain, and if that means taking a bite out of Spencer, he will!

The Second Season of "Ballers" raises the stakes and pushes Spencer to the edge. Spencer is now determined to once again reign as the king of all media, while minding his cattle of top tier talent, and making sure his business partner Joe (Rob Corddry) keeps his head on straight in the most competitive game in town! With Miami serving as the backdrop for the action, "Ballers" gets bigger and more beautiful and although it's an acquired taste, it has considerable flavor.

The Blu-ray is full-tilt loaded with "inside" looks at each episode with exclusive interviews featuring the series' star Dwayne Johnson and executive producer Evan Reilly, with appearances from other cast mates and show creatives.
