Set in the summer of 1963, how could Frances "Baby" Houseman (Jennifer Grey) have imagined how her life was about to change when her family vacationed at Kellerman's resort. It isn't long before the impressionable young woman finds herself on "the wrong side of the tracks" and falls for one of the resort's most popular hired-hands, Johnny (Patrick Swayze) a private dancer, a dancer for money. Suddenly, things are looking up for Baby and hormones begin to rage, as a soaring love affair develops between the two set to the music of the times, and the choreography of Kenny Ortega.
