Watch: Pa. News Reporter Makes Cringe-Worthy Homophobic 'Joke' on Live TV
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
A reporter for a Pennsylvania Fox News affiliate station made headlines last week when he attempted to make a joke on live TV but turned out to be a homophobic cringe-worthy moment.
Steve Keeley, who was reporting on a snowstorm in Philadelphia for FOX 29, commented on anchor Mike Jerrick's shirt - a bright pink sweater. Kelley told the host he was going to show him a trick a friend Tommy taught him in school.
Keeley then instructs Jerrick to pose with his hand on his hip and his other hand touching his shoulder, making him look effeminate.
"Tommy would then say, 'Hi Guy!,'" Keeley added.
It didn't take long for the host to catch onto Jerrick's lame "joke."
"I don't think this is appropriate," Jerrick said awkwardly.
"I'm sure I'll think that's funny later," Keeley said.
Keeley has not mentioned, nor apologized for, the incident on his Twitter account. Philly.com notes while a number of viewers took the time to mock Jerrick's pink sweater, none did some with any bias.
If it's any consolation, watch a video that Philly.com points to, showing Keeley getting covered in snow by a passing plow in 2014.
