Watch: 'SNL' Spoofs Logo's 'Fire Island' Reality Show with Lesbians
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
The upcoming Logo reality show "Fire Island" caused some controversy last week after its trailer debuted online. The clip, which basically looks like "The Real World" but with all gay men instead of the token one (two if we're lucky!), sparked two think pieces: One condemning the show and another somewhat defending it.
Whether you plan on tuning into "Fire Island" or not, "Saturday Night Live" got into the mix when it spoofed the show on last week's episode.
"If you like 'Fire Island,' you'll love 'Cherry Grove,' Logo's new show about a group of affluent lesbians (Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, Sasheer Zamata)," the YouTube description for the clip reads.
The fake show is about "a group of affluent lesbians one beach away," says the announcer. The clip then cuts to the "SNL" stars each cradling a crying baby.
"I'm 38 and I'm the dairy-intolerant one," says Chris, played by Bryan.
