It was promised to be the biggest season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" and the premiere episode of Season 9 delivered.

With a little help from Lady Gaga, who served as guest judge, and the unexpected move from Logo to VH1, the first episode of the new season of "Drag Race" brought in big ratings, according to Deadline. "Oh. My. Gaga!" pulled in nearly 1 million viewers.

Though "Drag Race" is in what is considered "the death slot" on TV (Friday at 8 p.m.), the Season 9 debut broke ratings records, becoming the reality show's most-watched episode ever.

Deadline also reports VH1 said "Drag Race" did well on social media too, earning its highest Twitter volume ever.
