Madonna Biopic 'Blond Ambition' in the Works

Universal recently picked up a Madonna biopic called "Blond Ambition, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film will explore the early years of the Material Girl's career in the 80s as she puts together her debut album and navigates "a business that treats women badly, while also dealing with a burgeoning love life and the first hints of fame."

"Madonna" helped propel the pop icon into fame, thanks to singles like "Holiday" and "Lucky Star."

The film's script was written by Elyse Hollander and will be produced by Michael De Luca ("Fifty Shades of Grey") along with Brett Ratner ("The Revenent") and John Zaozirny.

Since the film is still in the early stages, casting news as to who will play Madonna probably won't be announced for some time.
