Fernbank Museum Hosts After-Hours Series 'Fernbank After Dark'

Go on an "after dark" adventure at Fernbank Museum and discover your inner-nerd with a drink in hand and an adventure in sight.

Held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the second Friday of each month, the new adults-only series "Fernbank After Dark" features science experiences curated around different topics each month, as well as live music, films in the state-of-the-art Giant Screen Theater, small bites and a rotating menu of craft cocktails and beers. Upcoming topics include Botanicals in Alcohol on May 12 and a Summer Art Series on June 9.

During Fernbank After Dark, guests are invited to enjoy all of the Museum's indoor exhibitions, including "A Walk Through Time in Georgia," "Reflections of Culture," traveling temporary exhibitions, and more. From May to September, "Fernbank After Dark" visitors will have access to Fernbank's new outdoor experience, "WildWoods," until dusk. Special activities and demonstrations offer new explorations, experiences and experiments on an on-going basis.

"Fernbank After Dark"'s beverage menu rotates seasonally and highlights local spirits and beers. "Fernbank"'s new Mesozoic Bar, a winding centerpiece with a shape reminiscent of a single helix RNA strand, sets the mood for science and spirits.

To fuel up for the night ahead, guests can stop by the Fernbank Caf� from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for a special small plate menu offered only during Fernbank After Dark. Sample offerings include a hummus trio plate, chorizo and manchego empanadas, and fried artichokes.

Films are shown at "Fernbank After Dark" in the Giant Screen Theater at 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Films showing May 12 include "Dream Big 2D" and "Extreme Weather 3D." Films showing June 12 are "Dream Big 2D" and "Amazon Adventure 3D."

"Fernbank After Dark" general admission tickets are $15 for non-members and $10 for members. General admission tickets plus a film in the Giant Screen Theater are $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Advanced reservations to "Fernbank After Dark" are strongly encouraged and tickets can be purchased online at FernbankMuseum.org/AfterDark or at the Museum's Box Office. Visitors must be 21+ to attend Fernbank After Dark.
