Drag Queen on Katy Perry's 'SNL' Performance: 'No Drama with Migos'

It was reported this week the Atlanta rap trio Migos reportedly refused to perform with drag queens, who appeared in Katy Perry's "Saturday Night Live" gig last weekend. But one of the queens who was on the show told Spin magazine there was "no drama" with the group.

"It was incredible performing with Katy Perry," drag queen Brita Filter, who appeared in Perry's "Bon Appetit" performance that featured Migos, told Spin. "She wanted to have all walks of life at the table. I was happy to represent all the drag queens.

"There were numerous changes throughout the rehearsal process," she added. "They chose to have only people of color at the table. There was no drama with Migos."

Another drag queen, who wished to remain anonymous, told Spin she only heard rob rumors that the rappers didn't want them in the performance, adding she could not confirm anything.

A rep for the "Roar" singer told Spin "the story is false." A rep for Migos echoed a similar statement to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, saying the story is "completely false and fabricated."

World of Wonder, the production company behind "RuPaul's Drag Race," published a now-deleted story where anonymous drag queens, who were on "SNL" with Perry, claimed Migos refused to work with them. An anonymous "SNL" staffer also claimed the queens, many who are part of the New York City drag scene, were not invited to an afterparty.

It's unclear why the World of Wonder article was taken down. Nevertheless, the story was picked up and aggregated by a number of LGBT sites, including EDGE.

Perry brought on several drag queens for a performance of her new song "Swish Swish." Though the anonymous queens claimed Migos didn't want the queens to perform with them during "Bon Appetit," some are seen during that gig.

Migos came under fire earlier this year during a Rolling Stone interview, in which they made controversial comments about a fellow Atlanta rapper who came out as gay. Migos later apologized on Twitter, saying they "love all people." Perry also got some flack from fans, who pointed out Migos' comments and that Perry has been a longtime LGBT advocate when she announced the rappers were featured on "Bon Appetit."
