Celebrating Pride Month, Instagram Debuts Fabulous LGBTQ Stickers

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Celebrating Pride Month this June, Instagram announced this week that it is debuting a set of fabulous LGBTQ-inspired stickers and a rainbow brush that can be used for Instagram Stories, Mashable reports.

The six new stickers were created by LGBTQ artists from around the world and show different aspects of queer life.

One of the stickers shows a man of color voguing and another is an eye with the colors of the trans flag infused in its iris. Other stickers show sunglasses with rainbow-color lenses and the word "queer" in bold rainbow layers.

The stickers were created by artists Carra Sykes, Andy Simmonds, Cute Brute, Jos Antonio Roda, and Josh McKenna.

In a blog post announcing the stickers, Instagram writes:

In honor of pride, we're kicking off a global initiative to turn walls in cities around the world into colorful beacons of support. We began today in Los Angeles by transforming the iconic Paul Smith pink wall into a rainbow. Murals by artists throughout the Instagram community will also appear in London, Madrid, Nashville and Cleveland. Visit a rainbow wall and take a photo or video in front of the wall to show your support of the LGBTQ community. You can also join the #KindComments movement on Instagram and make someone's day by leaving a supportive comment on their post.

Instagram is committed to fostering a safer, kinder community. This June, show your support for the LGBTQ community with a pride sticker and hashtag #pride2017.
