Watch: 'Drag Race' Star Sharon Needles Parodies Kathy Griffin's Controversial Trump Pic
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
"RuPaul's Drag Race" winner Sharron Needles isn't afraid of a little controversy.
After getting off a 14-hour trip from Tel Aviv, Sharron decided to do a surprise performance at the P Town Bar in Pittsburg, Pa. Tuesday night, according to World of Wonder's James St. James.
"Quickly styling a red Joan Rivers wig into a Kathy Griffin 'do, and bloodying up an old Owen Wilson head she had lying around her house of horrors, she was off and running," St. James wrote.
Sharron commented on the Griffin backlash, saying it was "kind of mind boggling the levels to this story."
"[T]hat a female comic in this day and age, who was a friend of Joan Rivers, and who was on 'Celebrity Apprentice' with our president, is subjected to this type of abuse," she went on to say. "I mean... if only Joan was still around. And the fact that we don't hold our male politicians to the same standard as female comedians is shocking..."
Griffin has suffered a major backlash and has lost gigs and advertising opportunities.
Sharon also picked the perfect song for her performance: Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Heads Will Roll."
After her show, the "Drag Race" Season 4 vet shared an image of herself parodying Griffin's Trump pic to social media. Check it out below along with a clip of her performance.
