Watch: South Korean Actor Responds to Leaked Masturbation Video Scandal
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
A South Korean actor is now opening up after a private video of him masturbating leaked online last year.
According to reports from AllKPop.com, actor Seo Ha Joon admitted that he was the subject of a 9-minute cam video that leaked online in December 2016 when he stopped by a South Korean talk show called "Video Star" on July 18.
A host asked Joon: "You were in the center of a controversy. Did you have a difficult time?"
"It would be a lie if I say I didn't," the 27-year-old actor responded, according to AllKPop.com.
The host then asked why Joon didn't release any official statements about the video.
The K-Pop website provides the following statements Joon reportedly made on the talk show regarding the video:
"Why wouldn't I have wanted to speak up about it? But everyone could just tell that it was definitely me and people were already aware, and I could also just tell that it was me [in the photos]. People already knew it was Seo Ha Joon, so I didn't see the point of speaking up and saying, 'Yes, that's me.'
I didn't want to say it wasn't me. It was definitely me and there was no point in denying it. Since the controversy, I think I've only had about 20 seconds of happiness in total. I worried for three days about an apology letter. I wrote two words with a pen and then just dazed off for three hours. I didn't know what to write, whom to apologize to, or just what to do..."
AllKPop notes the award-winning actor, who has appeared on four popular TV shows in South Korea, cited his fans as to how he got the confidence to return. He also thanked them during his difficult time.
