Summer Sizzles at Las Vegas Pools

Matthew Wexler READ TIME: 6 MIN.

Can't beat the heat? Take a dip on the wild side or chill out at some of Las Vegas' most sought-after summer soires.

Las Vegas has it all: A-list entertainment, accommodations for every style and budget, and plenty of bling if you're seeking retail therapy. But when the summer hits and the temperatures rise, visitors flock to Las Vegas for its now legendary pool scene. Craft cocktails, internationally renowned DJs, and cabanas to catch some shade sweeten the surroundings. Here are EDGE's top picks for making a splash:

Luxor Temptation Sunday

Forget 'Lucky 7s' - this is the eighth year in a row for Luxor's seriously sexy Temptation Sundays. The day party kicks off at 1 p.m. and continues until 7 p.m. each Sunday through September 24.

Hosted by J.Son of Nakedboynews.com, various DJs make their mark including resident DJ Matt Lucio and special guests including Casey Alva (August 13, September 17), Morningstar (August 27, September 10) and others.

When the Sun Sets
Blue is the new black. Blue Man Group, that is. A world phenomenon, the show is a dynamic combination of art, music, comedy and technology, and has been seen by more than 35 million people. Luxor Hotel and Casino plays host to the latest dynamic trio to take to the stage with continually refreshed music, new stories, custom instruments and state-of-the-art technology.

Tropicana Resort Pool

TAG-approved and with a high-ranking score on HRC's corporate equality index, The Tropicana Las Vegas has long been a welcoming destination for LGBT travelers.

Enjoy swim-up blackjack amid the bright, tropical setting and flowing waterfalls, or snuggle into an exclusive cabana for privacy. Tip: Enjoy "reverse happy hour" from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Thursday, featuring mimosas, bloody marys, and "dirty bananas," along with light bites.

When the Sun Sets
Be one of the first to experience chef Robert Irvine's Public House at the Tropicana Las Vegas (opening July 27). The expansive 9,000-square-foot restaurant features an open kitchen, full bar, and Irvine's flavor-packed recipes.

Soleil Pool at Paris Las Vegas

Tres magnifique! Tucked under the hotel's soaring replica of the Eiffel Tower, Soleil offers a relaxing respite reminiscent of a Parisian garden with an expansive deck offering cocktail service and plush amenities.

Indulge even more with a poolside massage provided by the hotel's Mandara Spa. We recommend the Balinese massage, a traditional therapy utilizing long strokes and pressure points.

When the Sun Sets
Hi-lar-ious! Jai Rodriguez and Kendra Wilkinson star in "Sex Tips for a Straight Woman From a Gay Man," the hit comedy where "no topic is taboo, and the insider tips come straight from the source" at Paris Las Vegas. (Extended through January 2, 2018.)

Pool & Lounge Vdara

Surrounded by cutting-edge design, private retreats and cabanas with semi-secluded plunge pools, Pool & Lounge Vdara offers blissful escape. Rising above Harmon Circle on the rooftop of the grand entry, this interactive space provides phenomenal views and an intimate experience unlike anything else on the Las Vegas Strip.

When the Sun Sets
Finish your afternoon with a visit to ESPA at Vdara for a luxurious escape. Recently awarded the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating, ESPA at Vdara's 18,000-square-foot, two-floor spa is a decadent and rejuvenating way to reboot for the night ahead with signature treatments ranging from the signature Desert Rose signature treatment (salt scrub, body and scalp massage, and body butter application) to the men's purifying facial. (Open daily until 8 p.m.)

Encore Beach Club at Encore

With more Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world, Wynn Resorts raises the bar for summertime fun in the sun with its beautiful, temperature-controlled pools, Jacuzzis, and pristine gardens. Reserve a private cabana with plush furnishings, TV and mini-fridge for the full-on experience. A recent renovation has expanded the beach club's capacity to more than 4,000 guests, so if you tire of your current companions, there are plenty of fish in the sea.

When the Sun Sets
No pool-inspired getaway to Las Vegas is complete without seeing "Le Rve - The Dream" at Wynn Las Vegas, a jaw-dropping theatrical spectacular staged in an in-the-round aqua theatre. Highlights include aerial feats, an underwater tango, and the show's most notable act, "Dnouement," which features a harrowingly choreographed dance through spectacular water and fire elements.
