Watch: Megyan Kelly Asks Jane Fonda About Plastic Surgery, Properly Gets Shut Down

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Things aren't going so well for Megyn Kelly's new daytime talkshow, "Megyn Kelly Today."

After making headlines for controversial remarks about a gay "Will & Grace" fan, the former Fox News reporter is again finding herself in some heat for asking Jane Fonda about plastic surgery.

Fonda and Robert Redford, possibly two of the most-liberal actors in Hollywood, stopped by Kelly's new show Wednesday to discuss their new Netflix movie "Our Souls at Night." But things got weird when Kelly decided to ask about the 79-year-old Oscar-winning star about plastic surgery.

"You, you've been an example to everyone, on how to age beautifully and with strength. And unapologetically," Kelly said, seeming a bit nervous. "You admit you had work done. I think it's to your credit. You look amazing. Have you ... why did you say .. I read you felt you're not proud to admit you had work done, why not?"

As Kelly speaks, Fonda looks directly into her eyes, remaining complete unemotional. When she finishes, Fonda shuts her down and avoids the question all together.

"We really want to talk about that now?" the "Grace & Frankie" star snapped.

"Well, one of the things people think about when they look at you, is how amazing you look," Kelly responds.

"Thanks. Good attitude. Good posture. Take care of myself," Fonda said. "Let me tell you why I love this movie that we did, 'Our Souls at Night,' rather than plastic surgery."

On her first show this week, Kelly joked by asking a "Will & Grace" super fan if the sitcom made him gay. After an online backlash, star Debra Messing said she regretted going on Kelly's show and that she was "dismayed by her comments."
